CBOX RULES

You must register a name to use the cbox. Do not register anything silly and unrelated to your handle/alias/username on VT.

Visionary Tales is an open community to members of all ages, ability levels, and limits. While we don't claim to be a neopets with "no limits", we are very open and accepting when it comes to all people. However, while some people are all for very liberal limits, we must respect members that are still conservative when it comes to some items:

Rule #1:
Don't be a douchebag.
This is customary for Visionary Tales. Please, PLEASE be respectful of our members. If you have an issue you need worked out, PLEASE don't bring it to the cbox. Use PM or PM one of the admin or moderating team. We're all very understanding people.
(This includes personal matters, it's very awkward and uncomfortable to mention some things on the cbox and hunting for sympathy isn't allowed. If you need someone to talk to, all of the staff are more than willing to accept personal messages.)

Rule #2:
Profanity and mature content
Profanity filter is on. Do not intentionally try to sneak around the filters. Please do not be vulgar, gross, excessively sexual, or violent. Think PG-13.

Rule #3:
Roleplays
If you need to plot or discuss development within your roleplays, please be courteous and take such discussions to personal message or the out of character subforum.

Rule #4:
Advertising

Do not post links to other forums. We have an advertising section located here.

Rule #5:
Don't be a douchebag.
Do not impersonate our staff or members.

Rule #6:
Argument and Debate:
Do not argue on the cbox and please do not use the cbox as a vehicle for debate. Religion and politics are not appropriate topics of conversation for the cbox. (Though you will find that discussions on these topics are allowed within our General Discussion subforum.)

Rule #7:
Links on cbox:

Do not link to other forums or graphic/lewd/vulgar/etc. images. If you have difficulty determining whether or not the link in question is appropriate or not, take the safe route and do not post it.

Rule #8:
Spam is nasty:

Please do not intentionally crash conversations on the cbox with links to videos, pictures, etc. Just be aware of the conversation you're leaping into and be considerate.

Rule #9:
"I'm Bored":

THE I'M BORED BRIGADE
Yeah, I get it.
You're finished with all of your replies, the dishes are done, and you even completed all of your homework. And now, you're bored.
You're bored? Not anymore! (*Not necessarily a rule, but a pet peeve of Spotty's!)

Rule #10: STAFF CLAUSE
These are The Cbox Rules of Visionary Tales.

The rules are to be read. I do not expect anyone to memorize them, but I expect everyone - staff included - to follow them to their greatest ability.

Should something be asked to end on the cbox, it should be ended. The rules are to be utilized at the administrator/moderator's discretion. Back talking is unacceptable. If you have an issue with a particular decision, please personal message the administrator/moderator in the situation or feel free to personal message one of the others for clarification on the incident.

It is your RIGHT to personal message a staff member if you feel you have been treated unfairly. But continuing a conversation that was requested to be ended on the cbox puts YOU in the wrong. Please personal message Spotty or Crazy to avoid these situations.


Rule #11:
Do not backseat moderate.

While we appreciate the intention behind the act, backseat moderation causes more problems than good. If you feel that a situation has gotten out of hand, please contact a staff member, by personal message or instant message, and direct their attention to the situation.

HOW TO POST ON THE CBOX
-Insert a name in the 'name' field.
-You can also insert a website/email into the email/url field, but it's optional.
-Click on profile and it will ask you to enter a password to register the name. Do so and you're now free to post on the cbox.


DISCLAIMER!:
A Note about the Cbox:

I think that the heavy moderation and strictness of the events on the cbox has been misinterpreted. Slapping a PG-13 sticker on this box was never intended to shut down any intelligent or "intense" conversation. Unlike the various threads on the rest of the forum, the cbox cannot be made private, and is a front-most public place of the forum. In other words, it is important to myself and the rest of the staff that the cbox is happy, friendly, polite, and light-hearted.

You're free to participate in whatever discussions suit your fancy on the discussion boards, or over instant messaging. In fact, you'll find the threads are drastically less moderated than the cbox.
