CBOX RULES
"Don't Be a Douchebag." --The immortal words of Almighty Spotty You must register a name to use the cbox. Do not register anything silly and unrelated to your handle/alias/username on VT. Please, please, please read the rules and stick to them, It makes everyone's life easier. ^^
Visionary Tales is an open community to members of all ages, ability levels, and limits. While we don't claim to be a neopets with "no limits", we are very open and accepting when it comes to all people. However, while some people are all for very liberal limits, we must respect members that are still conservative when it comes to some items:
Rule #1: Don't be a douchebag. This is customary for Visionary Tales. Please, PLEASE be respectful of our members. If you have an issue you need worked out, PLEASE don't bring it to the cbox. Use PM or PM one of the admin or moderating team. We're all very understanding people. (This includes personal matters, it's very awkward and uncomfortable to mention some things on the cbox and hunting for sympathy isn't allowed. If you need someone to talk to, all of the staff are more than willing to accept personal messages.)
Rule #2: Profanity Profanity filter is on. Do not intentionally try to sneak around the filters. Please be aware that the cbox is one of the first things any new member views and I want to keep it clean and welcoming. ^^ Just be reasonable. Please. As a general rule, just be really aware of what you're posting. If you don't see it in a "G" movie, I don't want to see it on the cbox. Thanks. ^^
Rule #3: Roleplays While I am not going to be a stickler for "tagging" people using the cbox, try to keep the searching for roleplays to a minimum on the cbox. That's why there's a roleplay search board. If anyone is interested, they should direct their attention to that part of the forum. If you're having problems locating a roleplay partner, try posting on someone else's roleplay search or directly pm one of the moderators or admin. We're here to help.
(This includes plotting. While I don't mind, "Hey! We should do a roleplay! What genres do you do?" And then a couple of suggestions in response, "I do medieval fantasy! And sometimes Harry Potter!" This exchange is completely acceptable. Beyond that, I please ask you move the conversation to personal messages. Or, move to the Roleplay Search forum)
Do not nag, pester, hound, or otherwise forcefully beg for a reply from members. Reminding someone is okay. ^^ Especially if you suspect they forgot. Sometimes individuals are without the energy or time to put up a reply right away, so for the sake of being courteous, please be reasonable about tagging or reminding members for replies.
Rule #4: Chatspeak Ew. Don't do it. Pretty please?
Rule #5: Advertising **EDIT**: Visionary Tales does INDEED have an advertising section. Advertisements STAY in the Advertisement Forum. NEVER should a link to another forum show up in the cbox, ever. There will be a zero tolerance policy on this rule. You will receive one warning, after that you will be IP address banned indefinitely. DO NOT PUT OUR STAFF IN A HARD PLACE.
Rule #6: Don't be a douchebag... Impersonating ANYONE on Visionary Tales is not tolerated. At all. If you are caught impersonating anyone on the cbox, you will be banned temporarily or permanently, however the administrators deem appropriate in the situation. Best way to avoid being banned? Register your name and YOUR NAME ONLY.
Rule #7: Keeping Peace: Banned Topics: Twilight-- We're either, "DDDD: TWILIGHT IS THE BEST EVAR! 8D!" or "TWILIGHT IS TEH SUCKZORS! DDDDDD< " There is never a middle ground, so...just don't talk about it on the cbox. Ever.
Politics-- This is too sensitive; we have very opinionated members, I understand this, I respect this. But Visionary Tales is founded on tolerance and understanding. So please, just keep it off of the cbox.
Religion-- Again, it's too sensitive. No one should feel uncomfortable, targeted, or discriminated against because of their religion or beliefs. Just don't discuss it on the cbox. That's all I can ask.
Rule #8: Links on cbox: I don't mind seeing photobucket links, or links to other websites, explaining certain things - for example, what the heck is Candy Floss?- but, graphic or lewd pictures are never okay. Do not post links to them, we have a zero tolerance policy on this. No one wants to see them.
Rule #9: "I'm Bored": THE I'M BORED BRIGADE Yeah, I get it. You're finished with all of your replies, the dishes are done, and you even completed all of your homework. And now, you're bored. You're bored? Not anymore!
Rule #10: STAFF CLAUSE These are The Cbox Rules of Visionary Tales. { STAFF LIST }
The rules are to be read. I do not expect anyone to memorize them, but I expect everyone - staff included - to follow them to their greatest ability.
Should something be asked to end on the cbox, it should be ended. The rules are to be utilized at the administrator/moderator's discretion. Back talking is unacceptable. If you have an issue with a particular decision, please personal message the administrator/moderator in the situation or feel free to personal message one of the others for clarification on the incident.
It is your RIGHT to personal message a staff member if you feel you have been treated unfairly. But continuing a conversation that was requested to be ended on the cbox puts YOU in the wrong. Please personal message Spotty or Crazy to avoid these situations.
HOW TO POST ON THE CBOX -Insert a name in the 'name' field. -You can also insert a website/email into the email/url field, but it's optional. -Click on profile and it will ask you to enter a password to register the name. Do so and you're now free to post on the cbox.
The Warning Procedure: We, the administrators of Visionary Tales, reserve the right to ban members from the cbox for the breaking of these rules. Should you disagree with the reason for banning, you will be referred to Rule #1. If you still fail to familarize yourself with Rule #1, you will be banned once more. Banning for a third time will result in termination from this lovely site.
