The King turned toward the address of his station and nodded. "Indeed, it is. Quite the contrary, in fact. They're alive and well, just not on our island. It has been in my bloodline for generations; we just haven't allowed this knowledge to go out to the general populace yet." Bright eyes regarded the servants that accompanied the merchant he had seen yesterday. Interesting, so she had brought her proof as it was. Though really this incident had already gone far to establish a plot against her.

"It was no trouble. I was already over the area anyway. You should bind this man if you want to make your case of being attacked. He won't be unconscious forever."

Cassandra kept Laela and Darius behind her as the dragon king turned to address them. While she was still in shock to see a live dragon, she remained composed, or as composed as she could be, as she heard his explanation. Though, it was only a matter of time before everyone else knew that dragons still existed. It was best to keep it to herself as the king would likely want to keep this knowledge from the general populace.

Darius pulled some rope from the carriage and tied the man up before having Laela help him pull him to the carriage.

"I suppose we'll see you soon," said Cassandra, giving him a small curtsy before climbing back in the carriage.

Once they reached the castle, Cassandra was escorted back into the throne room with her companions close behind. She gave Baron Hawke a small smirk as they walked in.

"The king isn't here," sneered the baron. "You'll have to wait until he returns to hear you out." Scoffing at the two behind her, he continued. "And you brought your two good for nothing servants with you? As witnesses? I should've expected that from such a petty lowborn like you."

"Unlike you, I don't go around throwing insults and dismissing every claim against me..."

Ryker took his time getting back to the castle, knowing there was only so fast that a carriage could travel in this terrain. When he arrived back he took the time to clean up before heading down to his throne room. Once inside, he was greeted with the sight of his guards as well as the baron and the merchant with her servants from earlier. He took a moment to survey the room before striding up the steps and taking a seat at his throne.

A servant came forward, offering him wine which he declined. “These are your promised witnesses then? Come forward and present your testimony, then. One at a time please. Baron, you will have your time to dispute this once I have heard what they have to say on the matter.”

When the king took his seat, Cassandra had Laela and Darius step forward.

"Your majesty," started Laela, "Darius and I are almost always at Miss Ostar's side. She trusts us enough to be with her when she makes business arrangements. Baron Hawke came to her three months ago and asked to see her. When she knew what he was looking for, she put the agreement together and he and Miss Ostar signed it."

"I can attest to that," said Darius. "His lordship even came over every so often to see how far along she was getting to getting his goods. After he got them, he paid her three hundred gold before leaving and never cam back. She had given him plenty of notice when he didn't pay her the rest of the amount." He pulled out a book from his satchel. "I keep a log of every client that comes in and I can show you where his lordship came in and what day."
