Lucifer was not sure how to respond to that. It was easy to lie to people he didn't know, but John... would he suspect the truth? What if he did? What if that brought forth Beastblood? Would he attack? What would happen? Lucifer felt the questions spinning his mind in a whirlwind and decided he would just have to do his damnedest to not let John figure the truth out about his secret identity.

"I don't know," he said. "I gotta go."

With that, he whipped up his pistol off the floor and stood back up. The sirens were now deafening, and the police and EMTs were beginning to get ready to storm the building. Lucifer shot out one of the windows in the back, earning a few screams from scared patrons, and he dashed for it, leaping out it and scaling the next building right before the police entered in SWAT gear and examined the damage of the scene.

The seven robbers were unconscious save the one Lucifer had killed, and the woman holding the clerks wounds immediately screamed for help when she realized there were police on the scene. The EMTs swarmed with the police, gathering up the wounded, pronouncing the dead, and getting ready to transport to the hospital.

One EMT got to John, seeing the blood and bruises on the man. "Hey," she said gently. "It's okay. It's over. Are you hurt? I am going to check over you and get you to the hospital."

How..how did they not know?! John was about to voice this but Lucifer quickly rushed off. Sitting there, John shuddered at the shout. The loud and fear filled sound made his skin crawl. With the weird attempt of memory that had tried to surface, he felt that edge still. That uncertainty and anger that was just resting bellow. Due to this, John actually scooted away from the EMT. Eyes slightly wide as he put a gap between her and himself.

"F..Fine. I'm fine..." John answered, feeling his unease grow at the mention of the hospital.

Doctors....all the people in white coats, no no..no. He was tired of feeling that paranoia when he was sitting in that hospital bed. Shaking his head, it was rather silly. A grown man afraid to go back to a place that was meant to help and even when he was injured.

"no no no....I don't wanna go back there. Please no.." John requested, his voice shaky as he stared at her.

A few people meandered out of the back of the building, drawn by the police shouting and the EMTs treating those who were hurt or in shock. More than one person was sobbing in relief, scared for their lives and grateful for the presence of law enforcement. A few were muttered about Lucifer and the damage he had caused, but the feeling was overall grateful that it had ended so quickly and with only two injuries.

The EMT who was treating John backed off, startled by his reaction. "You are hurt," she said. "You might have a concussion, you should--" She was cut off by a man approaching and crouching down next to John, resting a hand on his shoulder.

"John," Vol said, gently. "You're hurt. You should at least let her check your head out."

Jerking at the feeling of someone placing their hand on his shoulder. JOhn's green eyes were quickly directed to the source. Suprise surprise though, it was Vol!! Where had he disappeared too?!! They were okay looking at the very least. However with them suggesting that he go to the hospital, his nervous expression returned as he shuddered. He hated that idea so much. He really REALLY did.

"f....fine...." John stammered in a low voice, not looking at the EMT.

"Oh, so you boys got mixed into this too eh?" the voice of the police officer spoke up from earlier.

Behind their glasses, they were indeed surprised. He hadn't expected to see em THIS quickly. Although, it was hard to say what the day would bring. They folded their arms slightly as they stood there.

"At least you two aren't in too bad of shape. I'll drop by at the hospital to get both of ya'll statements, alright?" he added.

The EMT gratefully helped get John sat up, holding him steady and immediately getting to work checking over him for any other injuries. She gestured for someone to bring a stretcher, so that he could be transported away and back to the city hospital for further examination.

Vol was startled by the police officer joining them, the one they had met with a mere hour before. What a hectic day this was turning out to be. He just considered himself lucky that he hadn't been shot.

"Thank you," Vol said to the police officer, doing his best to act shaken up by the whole event, rather than calm from the sheer fact he was used to being dead center in every criminal incident this city had to  offer. "I'm just glad no one died..."

"Come on," the EMT said to John. "Let's get you on the stretcher. Your friend can come with you in the ambulance, okay?"

Vol nodded. "I'll come with."

Hesitant. That's what John was at the moment, however he had to push past that and accept the woman's help. As she looked him over, he cast his gaze over his shoulder slightly to see the officer chatting with Vol. Where had Vol gone during the entire thing? Why had he gotten so angry to the point that he charged into conflict..? His head was starting to spin as he tried to think on these things, only to have to snap out of it by the EMT trying to get his attention again.

Sitting down on the stretcher, he found himself glancing over to the side. Spotting the blood trail that lead to where the other ambulance had been with the clerk victim. That ambulance had left but on the ground he spotted the red substance. Once more, he felt his stomach twist and he looked away. A groan leaving him as he put a hand to his face. He didn't like feeling like this...he felt ill now. His head was hurting and that burst of anger earlier confused him. Why were these things that affected him?

"Yeah...that's okay..." John finally answered. "Vol....where did you go? During the whole thing? One second and you weren't there."

The EMT was joined by a second one, and together they started to wheel John out, gently putting pressure on his chest to have him lay down and rest as they escorted him to a second ambulance. Among the crowd, the police officers were busy calming patrons, taking statements, and examining the scene.

"It was Lucifer," one of the clerks said. "He saved us."

"He nearly killed us," a customer said.

Vol walked with John, forcing himself to tune out the chatter and talk of the victims, and focused instead on his injured roommate. He was showing signs again of his memory affecting him... why had he charged into battle? It had saved Lucifer's life, but Vol couldn't deny he was unhappy he had risked himself so. What if it had forced Beastblood out?

"I went to hide and call 911," he said, simply.

"oh....okay. That makes sense..." John admitted.

The ambulance ride was rather...quiet. John didn't know what to do the entire time. The EMT was making sure nothing changed regarding him and he gave the same responses. It was only a few hours later when they were sitting at the hospital waiting for the officer to show up to do the interveiw that JOhn spoke about something else.

"My vision went all weird...during that. I saw people in weird gear and a bunch of people in labcoats." John said to Vol out of the blue. "For some reason I felt scared but then...just a great deal of rage and anger took over."

Vol kept quiet through the whole series of events, accompanying John to and through the hospital, providing--what he hoped was--a silent comfort despite the secrets he knew about John's past that he would not and could not share.

He was sitting in a chair by the window, on his phone and silently monitoring the police scanner for anything interesting, when John spoke at last. Vol looked up, setting his phone aside for a moment and fixing John with his full attention.

"You saw people in lab coats when you attacked those robbers?" he asked. "That's... odd."

"And people in weird gear. Not just people in lab coats. Like..some of them looked like they wore stuff like cops but not the same colors nor any badges. It was..." John started but he went silent, what was the point? "Nevermind. It's not important, just some weird hallucination."

IT was the only thing he could throw it up to being. The officer would arrive and take their witness testimonies, once done they were able to leave the hospital. John was rather glad for it, although his health seemed to take a bad turn. The man wasn't eating much, loosing his appetite more and more over two days. Till he was just laying in the bed in seclusion, hiding under the blanket in the bed. The dark circles under his eyes seemed to have gotten darker. With little to no energy, he sleeping most of the time. When he was awake, the faint sound of coughing could be heard from within.

He didn't have any episodes or memories try to surface. However, was this any better?

"Okay, I finally got those results and...part of me really hopes this isn't something that is...being used on a person. Granted...the blood you gave me with this is...already confirming that's not the case but still. Wishes are wishes." Todd stammered out as he shuffled several things at once.

Todd Bergus, a pharmacist who was able to dabble in a few other things as well. Let's just say he didn't really know who the guy on the other end of the phone was. He just owed that guy multiple favors and well....sometimes it was more of a pain than it was worth. Currently the man was trying to get into his apartment with multiple bags of groceries, fiddling with the key, and holding the phone between his ear and shoulder.
